Undo Gender Publication Gap at 海角直播

The "Undo Gender Publication Gap" measure is funded by the RLP State Equal Opportunities Program and awarded on behalf of the . These are earmarked funds for gender equality, which are to be used, among other things, for the promotion of female scientists at various career stages and qualification phases.

The gender publication gap refers to a well-documented discrepancy in the number of scientific publications by men and women in academic research. According to studies, the fact that women publish less frequently and prominently has become even more pronounced since the coronavirus pandemic.[1] Women scientists with caring responsibilities are also particularly affected by this.[2]

Publication strength is considered a key factor for academic performance - which has an influence on visibility in the form of appointment procedures, the awarding of prizes or grants for research funding. The number of publications and the frequency of citations of publications are often used as indicators of the visibility and influence of academics.

In order to counteract the gender publication gap, female researchers at 海角直播 with child(ren) and/or care responsibilities can apply for funding from the state equal opportunities program for student or research assistants for 5h/week.

The funding period covers a maximum of 6 months.
The submission deadline is April 30, 2026.

Preference should be given to assistants in the preparation of dissertations, habilitations, scientific publications or research proposals (e.g. laboratory, research and formatting tasks, transcription work).

Eligible to apply are

  • all female* professors, junior professors* and research assistants* at 海角直播
  • all doctoral candidates* who are enrolled at 海角直播

The funds from the measure can be applied for using the application form by e-mail to the Department for Equality, Diversity and Family (GVF) at 海角直播 (e-mail: annegret.scheibe[at]rptu.de). As the measure is tied to the duration of the state equality program, funding can be provided until December 2026 at the latest.

After completion of the employment period and completion/preparation of a publication/research proposal, we ask for a short final report (max. 1 page) on the employment of the assistant and the status of your project. Completion and/or positive notification of publication is expressly not a funding condition.
