The Bridge Fellowship "Entry into the Postdoc Phase" is financed by funds from the RLP State Equal Opportunities Program and awarded on behalf of the . These are earmarked funds for gender equality, which are to be used, among other things, for the promotion of female scientists at various career stages or qualification phases. The bridging scholarship is aimed at qualified women who are in the transition phase between doctorate and postdoc, who wish to continue their academic career and who do not yet have follow-up funding. The measure is intended to help increase the proportion of women among academic staff and professors in the long term.

On the one hand, the funding period serves to prepare a habilitation project or an academic postdoc project (project planning and initial steps, application preparations, clarification of target agreements with the future academic supervisor). On the other hand, it is intended to provide a framework for an interdisciplinary assessment of the individual situation and opportunities for further career planning.

The funding comprises a basic monthly scholarship amount of 1,850 euros (additionally for parents: for the first child a monthly allowance of 400 euros, for each additional child 100 euros per month up to the age of 18)[1] for a maximum period of 6 months. In addition, a one-off lump sum for material and travel expenses of 1,000 euros is granted. Each scholarship holder also receives up to 3 individual coaching sessions of 60 minutes each forpersonal career planning (in cooperation with the Center for Graduate Support and Academic Personnel Development Landau(ZGaPL/Coaching Offers).
The Department of Research at 海角直播 offers customized advice and support in the preparatory application process for your own third-party funded project.

Eligible to apply are:

• Qualified (prospective) female postdoctoral researchers at 海角直播 who wish to apply for their own position at 海角直播 with a research project

• Qualified (prospective) external postdoctoral researchers who wish to apply for their own position at 海角直播 with a research project

The application deadline for the Bridge Fellowship is May 1, 2026.
Funding for 6 months begins no later than July 1, 2026.
In justified cases, a shorter funding period is also possible.
As the measure is tied to the duration of the state equal opportunities program, the last grant payment must be made in December 2026 at the latest .
You will receive notification of your application by June 1, 2026 at the latest.

An application must include the following documents (if possible a PDF file with all attachments)

• Letter of motivation with location of the project at 海角直播
• Description of the research project (max. 3 pages) with references/sources and, if applicable, figures
• Time and work plans for the funding period, if possible beyond this period
• Endorsement of the funding by an academic supervisor at 海角直播
• Curriculum vitae in tabular form
• Degree certificates (BA, MA/diploma/state examination, doctoral certificate; transcript of record and certificates)

• Optional: Additional information that can be provided in the letter of motivation (explanations of special life situation and personal background: e.g. care responsibilities, disabilities or chronic illnesses; experience of discrimination; first-time academic status in the family)

Eligibility requirements:

• Convincing motivation and well thought-out, meaningful planning for the funding period
• Above-average completion of doctorate
• Approval of the funding by the academic supervisor at 海角直播
• The planned project application with its own position must be based at 海角直播.
• As a rule, there must be no more than 3 years between the dissertation and the start of the scholarship.
• The dissertation must at least have been submitted by the start of the scholarship. (If the process has not yet been fully completed, we ask for a brief statement of support from the academic supervisor at 海角直播).
• Secondary employment to a limited extent is possible within the framework of the scholarship statutes at 海角直播. Please refer to the general award guidelines: /studium/im-studium/studienfinanzierung/stipendien/richtlinien-und-faqs[2].
• Following the funding, a final report (max. 1 page), proof of the funding applied for in the meantime and, if applicable, notification of the position in the department must be submitted.
• Applications will only be accepted in full. (Please also understand that we cannot consider applications without the endorsement of the 海角直播).
• There is no legal entitlement to the award of a scholarship.
