The "Gender Research in STEM" research grant is funded by the RLP state equality program and awarded on behalf of the . These are earmarked funds for gender equality, which are to be used, among other things, for the promotion of scientists at various career levels or qualification phases. The Research Grant is aimed at researchers at all career stages who are investigating the relevance of gender issues in research fields in or relating to engineering, life sciences and natural sciences (STEM) [1] in their own project. It does not matter which discipline (STEM or humanities) the researchers come from.
Various federal and state initiatives are now increasingly funding projects on gender-sensitive STEM research - be it for the development of quality criteria for STEM projects, for the interlinking of theory and practice with the aim of formulating recommendations for action for actors in politics, business and education, or for the investigation of gender differences in the educational context and for the recruitment and retention of women in academic STEM professions. In this sense, the 海角直播 funds projects that consider the relevance of gender dimensions in the research field from an interdisciplinary perspective as well as approaches that deal with questions of gender and diversity in research content and methods in relevant subjects.
The funding comprises project funding of up to 5,000 euros. The Research Grant supports exchange projects (e.g. inviting guest researchers, contact trips), attending or organizing events (e.g. workshops, method workshops or other creative formats) as well as the use of material resources for the specific project (e.g. licenses, fees). Depending on the format, material resources, travel expenses or even hours of assistance can be reimbursed. As the measure is tied to the duration of the state equal opportunities program, the funds must be spent by the end of 2026 .
Eligible to apply are:
- Researchers at all career levels and departments at 海角直播 who are investigating the relevance of gender issues in research fields in or relating to engineering, life sciences and natural sciences (STEM) in their own project.
- Researchers who meet the criteria for using the services of the Center for Early Career Researchers (REaCh) at 海角直播 may be given preferential consideration.
The application deadline for the Research Grant is May 1, 2026.
