Discrimination creates a climate of intimidation and humiliation. Not only the confidence in the psychological and physical integrity or the ability to work, the enjoyment of learning, but also the health of those affected is damaged.
According to the General Equal Treatment Act (AGG), which came into force in 2006, every university is obliged to give those affected by discrimination or sexual harassment at the university the opportunity to lodge a complaint. Discrimination based on ethnic origin, gender, religion or ideology, disability, age or sexual identity should be prevented or eliminated (搂 1 AGG). In addition to official complaints, the university also offers the opportunity to seek informal advice if such incidents are experienced or observed.
