NEW training courses on the subject of e-mail

+++ E-mail training +++

There are regular warnings about so-called "phishing" attacks at 海角直播. But what do "phishing" e-mails actually mean? Why do we receive these emails and how dangerous are they really? What is the best way to protect yourself against them? In just over an hour, you will be fully informed, made aware of the dangers and trained in protective measures for safe handling. Afterwards, you will know what to do to avoid risks and how to act in the event of damage so that you can get through your day-to-day electronic work more easily and securely.

Building on the e-mail phishing training, the second part will deal more specifically with user certificates, signatures, encryption, etc. In addition to short theoretical parts, in which you will be fully informed, made aware of current dangers and trained in protective measures for secure handling, you will receive small practical parts with "live hacking" and "hands-on lab" insight into the real system. After the training, you can not only apply for your own personal user certificate, but also integrate it directly on site and receive assistance with problems or questions.

Continuing education outside the box

Digital consultation hour at Kaiserslautern University of Applied Sciences

For the past year, a digital consultation hour for university members has been held every Monday at 11:15 a.m. in the online lecture hall , where, in addition to a relaxed exchange about the digital services and projects at our university, there will also (usually) be a small lecture or workshop on a current topic in the field of digitalization, AI and/or IT security.

Preliminary program:

Summer semester 2026:

  • 2.3.2026 u. 9.3.2026: Openclaw (Moltbot, Clawdbot), a real AI agent, electronic work colleague or the ?
    Openclaw is a real AI agent, recently released as open source software. Installed on a normal user system (which is expressly warned against!), it can and will use all installed programs, accesses and passwords to solve tasks and, if necessary, extensions and possibly on its own if no elaborate protective measures are taken to effectively prevent this. Whether and how this extremely powerful, but also error-prone agent can be operated without personal data and access being leaked or even requiring the computer to be deleted and reinstalled will be demonstrated and discussed in the two consultation hours.
  • Slides and information on each presentation will be made shortly before the DigiSprech.
  • ...

Phishing Master" simulator

The Karlsruhe Institute of Technology (KIT) has written a program to train itself to quickly distinguish phishing emails from genuine emails and "shoot them down". Both phishing and legitimate emails are displayed in a game, which the user then has to shoot down. The rules and controls are explained at the beginning, followed by a short training session. Once you have successfully completed the training level, you can start shooting... have fun ;-)
