New publication & expert feedback: Focus on the book "Operational flood protection"

Book Flood protection

We are pleased to announce the publication of the new textbook "Operativer Hochwasserschutz" by SpringerVieweg-Verlag - and at the same time to draw your attention to the review already published in the journal Hydrologie und Wasserbewirtschaftung.

The book was written by Prof. Dr. Robert Jüpner and Dr.-Ing. Alexandra Schüller, who completed her doctorate on this topic at the TU Kaiserslautern in 2022. It combines decades of experience in water management and disaster prevention with scientific expertise. In addition to sound basic principles, it contains an extensive chapter in which real flood events are analyzed and practical solutions are presented.

The book has already been picked up by experts:
Prof. Thomas Hartmann (TU Dortmund University) and Georg Johann (HochwasserKompetenzCentrum e. V.) praise the book in their review (HyWa 5/2025) as a valuable contribution to the professional handling of flood risks).
