Workshop "Who are the good guys here? NGOs between improving the world and exercising power"
From 10.02.2023 to 12.02.2023, the Evangelische Akademie der Pfalz organized a workshop for young people on the topic of NGOs in cooperation with the Friedensakademie RLP. With the question "Who are the 'good guys' here?", a variety of areas of application of these special and globally active organizations, but also critical perspectives were presented. The participants dealt with this problem during the workshop, guided by perspectives from practice and academia. The event was kicked off by the speaker Eva-Maria Reinwald from the NGO "S眉dwind e.V.". She gave exclusive insights into the work of NGOs for a supply chain law. Dr. Charlotte Dany explained the contribution NGOs make to humanitarian aid and the economic constraints they are subject to. The young people had a lively discussion about the consequences of this economization of humanitarian aid. Tomke-Maillien L眉bben then led a simulation game on the distribution of aid funds. Finally, Dr. Annika Elena Poppe from the NGO ISRaid Germany e.V. offered a further insight into the practice of NGO work. With their participation in this workshop, the participants completed another module of the "Business and Ethics" certificate program.
