Rowan Alumasa Alusiuola is an Alexander von Humboldt Fellow in the program "International Climate Protection Year" 2020/2021 at the Peace Academy of the University of Koblenz-Landau. Her research focuses on the conflict potential of REDD+ in Kenya and how to minimize it while contributing to sustainable development at the local level.

Rowan Alumasa Alusiuola is an environmental specialist with almost 10 years of practical work experience in project and policy development, management and monitoring in the Eastern Africa Region (EAC), with particular expertise in areas such as environmental conservation, climate change adaptation and mitigation, food security and local community engagement. She has worked with various organizations: CARE International in Kenya, World Vision, Tetra Tech and UNEP. She studied Environmental Science and Community Development and is currently in the final stages of her Master's degree programs in Environmental Science and Community Development at Kenyatta University in Kenya. She has taken a course in Climate Change and Food Security at Wageningen University in the Netherlands.
