Russia's attack on Ukraine, which violates international law, is shocking and requires a decisive response from states and civil society. But what is the best way to create peace is controversial. How does the "turning point" with military armament and arms deliveries to a conflict zone work, how do the tough economic sanctions work? How could civilian means be better used, such as demonstrating solidarity with the Ukrainian population or providing humanitarian aid? So what needs to be done for peace in Ukraine?

We discussed this question with experts Dr. Martina Fischer (Bread for the World, Peace and Conflict Transformation Officer) and Prof. Dr. Johannes Varwick(Chair of International Relations and European Politics at Martin Luther University Halle-Wittenberg).
