Seminar description
The seminar serves to acquire basic knowledge of Seafile. Seafile is a cloud storage software for employees and students of universities and colleges in Rhineland-Palatinate. In addition to integrated file synchronization, the software focuses on the protection of user privacy and team collaboration. With the help of Seafile, you have access to your data anytime and anywhere.

As the user, you decide who has access to data and when. With just a few clicks, you can grant access to groups or individual employees, your (external) business partners can exchange confidential information with you at any time and the Office integration enables geographically separated teams to collaborate in real time via web browser. Full-text search, email notifications for new files, integrated antivirus scans and many other functions allow employees to exchange data quickly, securely and effectively. Every file change is saved in Seafile as a new file version. Thanks to the file version history, you can jump back to any older file version or save it separately. This applies to both individual files and entire directories. You can restore any past state of a folder with a single click. This allows you to work conveniently and securely.

Learning objective
Participants get to know the possibilities, potential and advantages of Seafile and learn how to use the user interface and functions with confidence. Future users will be able to use both the web interface and the Seafile client efficiently and as required. They acquire the ability to create libraries and folders in Seafile, store data in the cloud, edit it and share it with groups or individuals, and learn how to use the discussion forum. Specific tasks are used to consolidate the learning of the basics.
