Joint Israeli-Palestinian Memorial Day Ceremony

Livestream and Discussion

Organised by Combatants for Peace and the Parents Circle Families Forum, this year marks the 21st anniversary of the Joint Israeli-Palestinian Memorial Day. The aim of the event is to counteract one-sided narratives, to focus on the suffering on both sides and point out ways to reconciliation, peace, and justice. The event traditionally takes place on the eve of Yom HaZikaron, Israel's national day of mourning. Reports from grieving families and voices of peace and human rights work make clear that change begins with the recognition of the suffering of others.

Political scientist Dr. Steffen Hagemann will give a short introduction before we start the livestream which is followed by a discussion.

The introduction will be in German. The live broadcast will be in Arabic and Hebrew with English subtitles.

SPEAKER

Dr. Steffen Hagemann is a political scientist at 海角直播 Kaiserslautern and researches Israel and the Middle East. Before coming here, he headed the office of the Heinrich-B枚ll-Stiftung in Tel Aviv for four years.
