Aims of the AME profile area
- Experimental and theoretical analyses including cross-scale simulations of:
- Material: metals, polymers, composites
- Manufacturing process: Machining, additive manufacturing, surface layer modification
- Microstructure: from the macro to the nanoscale
- Application related properties: Functionality, efficiency, robustness
- ... along the entire process chain including aspects of recycling
- Digital transformation of the research process in close connection with the NFDI
- Seedbed and platform for interdisciplinary research, especially in coordinated programmes (SFB, FOR, GRK, ...)
- Promotion of researchers in early career phases, gender equality and diversity
Contributions to the development of º£½ÇÖ±²¥
AME addresses the following fields of action of the joint º£½ÇÖ±²¥ research strategy:
- High-performance materials and constructions for innovative products
- ... as well as in numerous facets and individual aspects:
- Mathematical modelling and simulation of complex systems,
- Social and digital transformations,
- Sustainable development and preservation of livelihoods
- AME establishes interdisciplinary research topics in these areas with the aim of implementing them in coordinated programmes
At the same time, AME actively supports the promotion of researchers in early career phases and gender equality
